An iconic decision is made from the heart. Following the sign of his intuition, in 1995 Eduardo Chadwick pioneered a joint venture with Robert Mondavi to handcraft a world-class Chilean wine. Chadwick searched alongside Mondavi for four long years before finding the ideal terroir in Chile’s Valle de Aconcagua that spoke to their instincts. Seña is the culmination of their vision – an expression of consummate quality and character.
e grapes were handpicked in the morning and transported to the winery in 12 kg boxes for a careful inspection on a
double sorting table to eliminate plant matter and defective berries. e grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks at
24°–30°C (75°–86°F), depending on the variety and the level of extraction desired. ree pumpovers were carried out
daily during fermentation to rotate 0.5-1.5 times the volume of the tank. Total maceration time ranged from 15 to 30 days
for the Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Malbec and Cabernet Franc, and 8 to 12 days for the Petit Verdot, according to
the development of each block vinied. e nal blend was racked to French oak barrels (65% new) and aged for 22
months, during which time malolactic fermentation and stabilization occurred naturally.

A beautiful, deep ruby-red colour with a violet hue, on the nose Seña 2011 offers black pepper and incense notes mingled with aromas of fresh black and red fruit such as blueberries, black currant, blackberries, and cherries, followed by dark chocolate and balsamic notes of sage and blond tobacco that lend a finishing touch that enhances the complexity of the blend. The palate opens smoothly, appearing long, refreshing and full of subtleties, with a broad range of flavours and a structure worthy of its complexity that provides an attractive sensation of volume and texture. An extremely balanced and elegant style of wine that presages its excellent cellaring potential.
